Nominations sought for College Management Council

LAFAYETTE, Colo. – USA Rugby is seeking the nominations of valued members of the rugby community to fill four regional seats on the College Management Council – Mid-Atlantic, Northeast, Pacific/Northwest and Texas – as well as one of two ‘at-large’ seats on the CMC.

Members of the College Management Council are vital to the union’s strategizing and implementation of the procedures surrounding USA Rugby’s college competitions for men’s and women’s Divisions I, II and Small Colleges. Nominations for the five seats up for election are due no later than Friday, July 7.

It is the responsibility of the CMC to provide guidance and oversight to all college conferences within his or her region. Responsibilities to members of the CMC include, but are not limited to, review and rule on appeals and discipline matters, oversee potential compliance issues, elect USA Rugby College Congress representatives, and help to establish dates for USA Rugby’s College Championship events. Nominees should have history of demonstrating leadership within the college rugby community as a player, coach, officer or administrator.

Following the acceptance of a nomination, a ‘rugby résumé’ provided by the nominee will be forwarded to the conference commissioner of each conference that resides within the nominee’s region. Conference commissioners will be responsible for disseminating the résumés to each team in the conference, allowing for every participating team within the region to have a say in the election process.

To submit a nomination for the College Management Council, or to receive more information on the CMC, email USA Rugby Collegiate Director Rich Cortez – rcortez@usa.rugby.
