Regional Cup Tournaments
USA Rugby’s Regional Cup Tournament College Showcases (RCTs) are the pathway to collegiate rugby play, college recruitment and exposure, and selection to the High School All American Teams!
Each RCT has two Divisions for both boys and girls, Tier 1 which will primarily be comprised of Juniors and Seniors and Tier 2 which will be primarily comprised of Freshmen and Sophomores, where America’s best players compete for a Regional Cup Championship. Please see below for eligibility for each division.
2020 Roster Submittal
Rosters for the 2020 Regional Cup Tournament will be submitted through an online portal directly to USA Rugby. Instructions and links for the roster will be sent to the coach once they have registered for an RCT.

What is RCT?
“RCT” stands for Regional Cup Tournaments. Each RCT is organized by the local State Rugby Organizations (SRO).
How do I participate in RCT?
Contact your local SRO to find out how to join an All-Star team attending a RCT near you!
How much are the Tournament fees?
Tournament Fees are as follows:
– West RCT: $500 per team
– Northeast RCT: $400 per team
– Northwest RCT: $450 per team
– Midwest RCT: $500 per team
– South RCT: $500 per team
*No refunds as of 7 days out from the event
Who is eligible to play on a Tier 1 team?
Player eligibility is determined by age.
Players must be at least 16 years old by the first day of the event their team is participating in and must not have turned 19 by September 1, 2019. Players must be enrolled in High School during the 2019/20 school year. This tier should primarily be comprised of Juniors and Seniors. No college or adult players allowed.
Who is eligible to play on a Tier 2 team?
Player eligibility is determined by age.
Players much be at least 14 years old or older by the first day of the event their team is participating in and must not have turned 17 before June 1, 2020. Players must be enrolled in high school during the 2019/20 school year. This tier should primarily be comprised of Freshman and Sophomores. No college or adult players allowed.
Are players allowed to play on more than one team during a competition weekend?
Players must only be rostered to 1 team during a tournament competition. If a player is rostered to a Tier 2 team, they may not play for a Tier 1 team during that weekend’s competition.
Will any player eligibility exceptions be granted for the 2020 Regional Cup Tournaments?
Player exceptions will be granted on a very limited basis for the 2020 RCT’s. If you have a player you would like to have play in a tier outside of their eligibility (e.g. 15 year old playing on a Tier 1 team) please Click Here to review the exception requirements and complete the request form.
I’m trying to register for a tournament using the “Register Here” link above but it wants me to create an account, do I have to do this to register my team?
No, you do not need to register with Sports Engine to sign up for an RCT. When you click on “Register Here” there will be an option to “Continue as a guest”, please click this link and you will be able to register your team without trouble.
