South Recap: Fall Season Starting to Warm Up
The True South Rugby division kicked off this Saturday, joining the Carolinas and Georgia in early-season USA Rugby South action from Saturday, October 13. Here are the results from Saturday’s Games:
Women’s Division II:
In the Carolinas/Georgia Women’s Rugby action from Saturday, the Savannah Shamrocks hosted and defeated the Eno River Rage 119 to 12, with three tries and two conversions. The Shamrocks limited the Rage to two tries and one conversion.
In the True South division, the Nashville Stone Lions beat the Memphis Flamingos 45 to 29. The Lions scored six tries and five conversions, while the Flamingos scored five tries and two conversions.
Men’s Division II:
In the northern subdivision of the Carolinas/Georgia division Saturday, the Tobacco Road RFC defeated the Charleston Outlaws 29 to 12. In the contest, Tobacco Road scored four tries and three conversions. The Outlaws were limited to two tries and one conversion.
In the southern subdivision of Carolinas/Georgia, the Atlanta Renegades beat the Atlanta Old White RFC 19 to 12. The Renegades scored three tries and two conversions, while the Old White was limited to two tries and one conversion.
In the True South Men’s Division, Nashville RFC routed the Knoxville Possums 66 to 8. Nashville scored ten tries and six conversions, while Knoxville was limited to one try and one conversion.
Men’s Division-III:
In Men’s Carolina/Georgia rugby action, the Asheville RFC hosted the Cape Fear RFC. Asheville defeated Cape Fear by a score of 68 to 12. Asheville earned six converted tries, and limited Cape Fear to just two tries and one conversion.
Men’s Division IV:
In the Men’s newly created Division-IV, the Southern Pines RFC crushed the Clayton Bootleggers by a score of 78 to 0. Southern Pines scored 14 tries and four conversions and kept Clayton completely out of the try zone.
