Gary Gold Headlines First Release of Speakers for the National Development Summit
USA Rugby is excited to announce the first set of confirmed speakers for the National Development Summit (NDS), January 19-21 in Denver, CO. The roster of 26 speakers is headlined by new USA Eagles Men’s XVs Head Coach, Gary Gold. This will be Gary’s first official engagement with USA Rugby Community, since his appointment was announced in October. When asked about speaking at the summit Gold responded: “I’m eager for the opportunity to speak at the summit. It serves an important role in the continued growth of our sport within the United States.” Gold who is still serving as Director of Rugby at the Worcester Warriors brings a wealth of experience to the summit, having; played, coached, and administered, the sport, at the highest levels in several different countries.
“Attending the summit will be a great way for me to understand more about not only the game in the United States, but also the people involved at all levels of the sport, working to grow its presence” Gold reiterated.
Joining Gold in the first wave of speakers are six members of the Women’s Eagles (Katy Augustyn, Stacy bridges, Tiffany Faaee, Christine Rozier, and Kristine Sommer) that placed 4th in the 2017 Women’s Rugby World Cup. Joining them will be the former International Referee Dana Teagarden. Teagarden who currently resides in Germany serves as a performance analyst for German Rugby, and a World Rugby Trainer. She looks to provide a unique and enlightening perspective to the summit.
There are also multiple community panels that will be speaking at the summit with representatives from the Women’s Rugby Coaching Association, Memphis Inner City Rugby, and Rugby Americas North: to name a few.
NDS hosted at the Denver Marriott City Center from the 19th-21st of January. You may register for the summit at rugbysummit.com/#register.
