2016-17 Women's Collegiate All-American Honors
LAFAYETTE, Colo. – Life University, Lindenwood University, Penn State and Central Washington are well represented on the yearly selected Women’s Collegiate All-Americans roster. In 2017, a total of 10 schools are included on the first and second team selections, while an additional 11 make the list by way of honorable mention.
“We had an incredible display of athletes to review this year, in awarding these honors,” noted USA Rugby Collegiate Director, Rich Cortez, “From young stars to current Eagles, we’re excited to see the women’s collegiate community well represented.”
Notable honorees include Lindenwood’s McKenzie Hawkins, after an impressive D1 Elite playoff and Final. Lindenwood squared off against champion Penn State with five represented first team All-Americans in Azniv Nalbandian, Kayla Chipman, Gabby Cantorna, along with Women’s Rugby World Cup backs Kayla Canett and Tess Feury.
In a list selected by the Women’s Collegiate All-Americans Selection Committee, input was guided by nationwide college coaches, scouts and selectors.
