A week after winning their third D1A National Championship in 15s, the Gaels went undefeated in Pool A before slamming Grand Canyon University, 36-5, to set up its Semifinal bout with Davenport. The Panthers, winners of Pool D, are a win away from reaching its second College 7s Cup Final. In 2015, Davenport navigated all the way to the National Championship fixture where it lost Mid-South Conference rival Lindenwood.

No team at Infinity Park has looked as sharp as the Lions. Lindenwood posted a plus-82 point differential while taking Pool B and shutout Bowling Green in the Quarterfinals, 42-0. Utah rebounded from a pool loss to Davenport to take down Big Ten 7s Champions Ohio State, 15-5, in the Cup Quarterfinals.

The eight Men’s DI sides that weren’t able to advance to the Cup rounds initially filtered into the Bowl Quarterfinals where Arkansas, Fordham, Stanford and Texas A&M were victorious. After just barely getting past Wyoming, Fordham will play a Texas A&M team that bested Santa Clara in the Bowl Quarterfinals after giving Cup Quarterfinalist Davenport and Utah fits during pool play.
Stanford has improved with each performance at College 7s and as a result the Cardinal escaped Madison, 12-5. They now draw Arkansas after the Razorbacks beat Kansas State, 22-12.
