Coach of Match Officials camps to be held in 2015
USA Rugby’s Referee High Performance Group is offering two Coach of Match Officials camps for referee coaches in 2015.
These are designed for those who have successfully completed the CMO1 course and wish to reinforce and demonstrate the skills learned, and receive further training. One camp will be conducted around a 15s event, and one around a sevens event to accommodate those who wish to specialize. Ed Todd, who co-authored the World Rugby CMO courses, presently manages the HP CMOs, and will oversee the camps, points out that while some referee skills require different emphasis, the principles and concepts of coaching apply to both formats.
Please note the dates:
April 10-12 in conjunction with the USA Rugby Women’s Division I and II Spring Championship (TBD)
May 22-24 in conjunction with USA Rugby College 7s National Championship (Denver)
Each camp will include classroom and intensive practical activities with opportunities for participants to work with appointed referees and share learning experiences with HP CMOs and WR Educators.
USAR will provide and fund the camp leaders, arrange block rooms for the event, and manage logistics. All other expenses, including ground transportation, will be the responsibility of the participants or their organizations.
All CMOs wishing to participate are requested to complete this application. The camps will be limited to eight participants on a first-come basis.
